We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified architect to join our creative and friendly team in Manchester.

About You
A newly qualified architect who is keen to grow in a busy city centre studio. You will possess an innovative approach to design, with strong visualisation skills and an awareness of design style. Be capable of precisely communicating concepts to technical and non-technical audiences using 3D models, drawings, written text and oral presentations have both design and technical skills and a strong eye for detail.
Required Skills & Experience
- RIBA Part III qualified and registered with the Architects Registration Board
- Cross sector experience is preferred ideally in residential, office, education and retail
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
- Already utilising Revit on a daily basis is preferable
- Good levels of self-organisation, with the ability to plan, organise and manage workflows
- Job Runner
- Able to manage and deliver projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Be an effective team member. Understand where your skillset fits within the team and collaborate o achieve best outcomes for the project
- Take receipt of a brief from an AHR Manager and develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
- Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of AHR's Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and AHR's Deliverables and DRM
- Achieve efficient and effective design solutions using robust and sustainable design solutions.
- Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
- Choose or advise on material selection. Respect the limited availability of natural resources when making design decisions. Take into account design life and durability
- Assist the Project Team with designing to a budget. On instruction, assist with value-engineering
- Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
- Undertake proper and sufficient checking of self-authored information
- Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
- Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (planning applications / Gateway submissions / building regulations etc)
- Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
- Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
- Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with AHR Protocols
