Responsibilities
The Approved Mechanical Fitter role, within the Engineering Department, will work with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Team Leader to deliver; On-time delivery, Continuous flow, Customer satisfaction, Zero defects, Compliance of all statutory electrical safety checks and tests.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Ensure all mechanical/maintenance equipment is compliant with current standards and legislation
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance work in an effective and safe manner
- Utilise fault finding diagnostic equipment to ensure the reactive maintenance impact is minimised
- Complete the workload as stipulated by the Manager or Team Leader
- Attend to unplanned failures in a timely manner to meet reliability targets
- Suggest tactical decisions to the Engineering Team Leader/Manager to stay on schedule
Skills and Experience
- Experience of maintaining heavy diesel plant and machinery in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Excellent fault finding skills and the ability to use fault finding diagnostic equipment
- Willing and able to work at heights
- Willing to multi-skill in mechanical and electrical engineering
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining Peel Health and Safety standards
- Capable of working effectively under pressure in a critical busy environment
- Understand permit to work systems and accident reporting
