What training and support will be provided by Ridge?
- BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment (Level 3) undertaken on a part time basis (day release) provided by a local college.
- Internal and externally provided training courses for software packages and other continued professional development (CPD) presentations.
- Approved in house training scheme to achieve professional registration with ICE / IStructE / Engineering Council (as Technician Member)
- Working as part of the design team to deliver Structural Engineering design projects
- Using industry leading computer-aided design packages (AutoCAD, Revit, Dynamo etc.) to produce 2D technical drawings and 3D model outputs
- Production of technical drawings under the supervision of technicians and senior technicians working in accordance with Ridge drawing standards and procedures
- Liaison with other members of the design team including building services engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
- Coordination of project documentation and exchanging of design information and drawing models
- Assisting with general office administration tasks as part of a wider team
- Demonstrate competent numerical/maths skills and literacy
- Ability to use your own initiative and to prioritise tasks at busy times
- A keen interest in using computers for design, drawing works and technical output
- A minimum of five GCSEs grade C or above which must include English, Maths, Science, and a technology related subject*
- A-Level in Maths and Science is an advantage however not a requirement for this role
- Note that owing to entry requirements of the course we ask that applicants have achieved a grade B (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths to meet the demands of the course
