We are now recruiting for a brand new software development apprentice to join our onsite IT team based in Leyland. We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for software and IT who wants to take their first step in an IT career with a ‘digital first’ IT team.
You will be working towards turning your passion into a career and furthering your own ambitions with dnata Travel Group.
You will be a valued member and contributor of our warm friendly and forward thinking IT team. Over the course of your 18 month Apprenticeship program you will get the best possible learning and development experience, ensuring you learn JavaScript, HTML & CSS coding as well as React, Node and Swift, along with all the other tech that we use here!
By the end of your learning journey you will be able to build full-stack websites and applications, you’ll be a master of Kanban boards and Trello.
Learning alongside the team you will find that no day will be the same in what is a fast-paced, brilliantly exciting team with our new apprentice being someone who strives to provide great customer service to both internal and external customers.
We understand that you will possibly be at the very beginning of your career in software, so we don’t expect you to evidence a significant degree of already existing technical knowledge.
Essential requirements & knowledge require for a successful candidate:
- A Grade “C” or equivalent in both English and Maths at GCSE level with 3 other subjects at this grade
- A real passion for tech and software with some knowledge of the basic concepts of software coding
- Excellent attention to detail
- An enthusiastic and pro-active attitude to learning and building your skill set
- A willingness to learn
Desirable:
- It would be advantageous if you held 3 A levels at Grade C or higher (or equivalent) with one of them being in a numerical or computing based subject
- A familiarity with Agile concepts & methodologies

N.B. Please note, this is an apprenticeship positions and therefore anyone with more than six months professional experience working as a software developer or who holds either a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or Master’s degree will not be eligible. Applications will also be considered from graduates with non-computer science degrees looking for an apprenticeship route to a tech career.
