About the Role
The Apprentice Risk Data Analyst position is an exciting new role created to use data analytic techniques centred around our Group Risk Vision. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the success of the Company and is key in providing independent and objective assurance to the Group’s Financial and Commercial operations. Collating, monitoring, analysing and reporting on trends is a key part of this role. Through computer assisted audit techniques and interaction with the wider Audit Team, the focus of the role is on root cause analysis, ensuring that at all times we are treating our customers fairly. The Apprentice Risk Data Analyst role will add value to the Group and is centred around the Company Vision of: “To deliver an outstanding customer motoring experience through honesty and trust”
FCA audits (to verify that the Group is compliant with its FCA obligations):
- Completion of FCA audits for each dealership in Group using data analytics• Collation and analysis of dealership self-audit scores
- Monitoring of FCA audit schedule driven by previous scores and self-audit reporting
Vehicle stockaudits (to verify that the Group’svehicle stock is correct):
- Completion of vehicle stock audits for each dealership in Group using data analyticsComputer Assisted Audit Testing (CAAT) and exception reporting focused on the key risks to the Group.
This work involves both routine testing of the application of the company’s policies and controls, and adhoc investigation work of potential new threats, e.g. bank fraud.
Testing covers such things as:
- Cash & bank audits (to identify potentially fraudulent activity or incorrect application of policy):
- Comparing bank payments to purchase ledger and payroll
- Reviewing duplicate payments/refunds from/to the same debit/credit card
- Identifying large transactions not compliant with Group policy
- Purchase ledger audits (to identify potentially fraudulent activity on incorrect application of policy):
- Reviewing supplier bank account changes
- Identifying payments made to Miscellaneous suppliers
- Reviewing separation of duty for the processing of supplier invoices
Apprenticeship: You will be working towards a Level 4 Qualification as a Data Analyst over a duration of circa 17-months. The programme is delivered 100% virtually and includes the PL-300 Official Microsoft Power BI Certification.
