Job description

Here at Havebury we are looking for a Multi-skilled Plumber Apprentice, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced plumbers to gain practical experience and develop the skills required to become a licensed plumber. You will assist with various plumbing tasks, learn about plumbing systems and components, and contribute to the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems. This role offers valuable hands-on training and an opportunity to advance your career in the plumbing industry.

An Intermediate Apprenticeship is a job with an accompanying skills development programme designed by employers in the sector. It allows you to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience while being paid to do so. Along with functional and personal skills that are needed for your immediate job and future career you will learn through a mix of project-based learning in the workplace, formal off the job training, and the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work context.

Requirements

Outline of Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Plumbing Installations: Collaborate with experienced plumbers to install, assemble, and connect pipes, fittings, fixtures, and appliances for plumbing systems in residential settings. This includes working on water supply and drainage systems
  • Supporting Maintenance and Repair: Aid in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems to ensure their proper functioning. Help identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and perform necessary repairs or replacements of faulty components
  • Learning Plumbing Techniques: Observe and learn from experienced plumbers about various plumbing techniques, tools, and equipment. Develop proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and plumbing machinery
  • Reading and Interpreting drawings: Learn to read and understand plumbing drawings, and specifications. Follow instructions and work according to building codes, regulations, and safety guidelines
  • Ensuring Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage. Comply with plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure quality workmanship
