Cyprotex, Alderly Park are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic and adaptable Physical Chemistry team which supports one another through mentoring and coaching.
We work with clients ranging from small academic groups to large international pharmaceutical.
The team consists of people with varying levels of experience and areas of expertise, and as our business grows, we are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to support this expansion. Key Responsibilities will include

To prepare, monitor and maintain compounds, stock solutions, buffers, and any other assay-related materials of relevance.

To be responsible for the routine calibration of assigned laboratory equipment.

To support the execution of assigned routine and bespoke assays.

To ensure work is performed to an exceptionally high standard, within specified time frames, ensuring safety regulations and applicable QC procedures are strictly adhered to.

Ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completing assigned tasks.

Ensure that all errors and erroneous results are reported to your supervisor with minimal delay.

To work with other stakeholders to ensure all laboratory waste is managed in the appropriate manner.

Assist in the supervision and mentoring of trainees and other support staff when required.

To participate in initiatives to improve group processes and make efficiency gains in assays.

To ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies
Education, Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), in Science, English and Maths. A-Levels / BTEC or laboratory-based experience would be preferred but full training would be provided for any suitable candidate.

Experienced working within CRO or pharmaceutical environment would be welcomed.
