About the role….
You will commence on apprenticeship rate of £11,446 per annum, and your rate of pay will increase annually in line with the craft apprenticeship rate. The Joinery apprenticeship is a 36-month programme.
You will be working as an apprentice Joiner undertaking assisting with joinery and carpentry work covering repairs, refurbishment, and upgrades to all property types within the Council’s property portfolio and as required in line with business need.
You will gain support and training to use building materials to create and install building components. This typically involves shaping and cutting materials, installing finished materials like partitions, doors, window frames, mouldings, timber floor coverings and erecting structural components such as floor joists and roofs. You will work with colleagues across Gateshead to apply the practical skills you will develop from attending college.
We want our Apprentice Joiners to develop core Joinery skills to succeed. You will support the service ‘one front door approach’, you will gain knowledge to enable you to be proactive in all aspects of health and safety, and the skills to work collaboratively with the team to deliver positive outcomes for our customers.
The apprenticeship you allow you to gain skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of Joinery and you will be required to attend college to gain the necessary qualifications. You must also be willing to actively obtain a full driving license.
