Apprentice Joiner
Temporary 2 years (but could lead to a permanent job)
2 x 37 hours per week (flexitime scheme in operation)
Based at Britannia House
Pay scale
Joiner Grade: % of salary of £20,812pa
Age at entry
Age 16/17 - Year 1 - £11,447 pa (55% pa)
- Year 2 - £14,568 (70% pa)
Age 18 + - Year 1 - £16,650 (80% pa)
- Year 2 -£17,690 (85% pa)
(Please note that if you are aged 17 in year 1 of your apprenticeship you will only receive age 18 salary in year 2)

The Department of Corporate Resources would like to recruit an Apprentice who is enthusiastic, competent and flexible.
The main purpose of the role:-
Ensuring that joinery works to Local Authority properties are carried out to the highest possible standard in accordance with drawings and specifications and in accordance with the Current Building Regulations
The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications of the role by the end of the training programme.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery
Please note that if a candidate possesses a qualification at the same level or at a higher level in the same specific subject area as the advertised apprenticeship the candidate would not be eligible for apprenticeship funding and therefore must not apply. If unsure, please enquire.
To qualify for the apprenticeship, you must have GCSE Maths and English at Grades A-C or a minimum of Entry Level 3 or above in Maths and English. (An assessment will take place before the interview stage).
Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment, training and the range of job activities within where it is possible for you to complete your full apprenticeship.

- Able to demonstrate a high level of numeracy, literacy and accuracy across a range of activities
To meet the apprenticeship funding requirements, you must be entitled to work in the UK and have been a resident for 3 years.
As this is an Intermediate Apprenticeship opportunity successful applicants at the selection stage will be assessed first on numeracy/literacy skills. Only successful applicants from the assessment centre process will be interviewed.
