Our Engineering teams are currently recruiting for our 2023 apprentices to join the DP World family. We offer an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a Welding career while also pursuing an education. We are committed to supporting people in acquiring the skills required to succeed as professionals.
The apprenticeship is completed over a four-year FTC period and is dependent on academic work, practical practice, coaching, training, and development (both practical and vocational).
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to break into the engineering field. You will have the opportunity to work on and weld for some fantastic pieces of equipment such as Quay Cranes, Shuttles, Terminal Tractors, and other heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
- To attend college and complete all coursework on time and to a high standard, taking responsibility for your own studies
- Carrying out a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and ability, both at college and on site
- Practically apply college learning at work
- Working with colleagues to learn and understand how the port and park operates
- To produce, maintain and be responsible for the content, accuracy and sign off of logbooks
Requirements:
- GCSE’s Grade 4 and above- Must include Maths & English
- Right to work in the UK
- Demonstrate a genuine understanding of engineering and desire to learn and then use the engineering principles to provide solutions
- Enthusiasm and Excitement about engineering and the want to be educated in this field
