Apprenticeship summary
As an apprentice toolmaker you will be trained to produce precision tools and work-holding devices. During your apprenticeship you will learn how to manufacture and assemble new tooling and how to re-furbish worn tooling.
The tools you will make are used to cut, shape and form metals and other materials to manufacture our range of products. You will become skilled, not only in conventional milling, turning, grinding and assembly. You will develop skills in programming, setting and operation of our state-of-the-art CNC multi axis machining centres.
This is a ‘4 year’ apprenticeship where you will be expected to complete your HNC in Engineering.

Requirements and prospects
Desired qualificationsEntry requirements: A minimum of 4 GCSE’s at Grade 5 with a preference of Grade 6 in Maths, English and Science.
Future prospects
Qualifications on completion: Level 3 Diploma and a HNC.
