Job Purpose
Deliver operational support tasks whilst training and gaining practical experience leading to either a NVQ level 3 qualification, or an Infrastructure Technician L3 qualification, or alternative Apprenticeship programme. This is a 4 year apprenticeship which will also involve maintaining a log book of progress through out the apprenticeship scheme resulting in a trade test at the end of the apprenticeship.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.
To work in one or more sections of the engineering team to gain experience in all Electrical/Mechanical applications, BMS and control strategies, Access control, CCTV and recording architecture, HVAC plant operation, IT and telecommunications infrastructure,
2.
The Technical services Apprentice will be trained to operate and program the BMS and Access control systems, undertake quick easy fixes or tasks relating engineering services, to gain high level of understanding regarding the IT and telecommunications infrastructure and general electrical and mechanical engineering at St David's.
3.
To carry out duties associated within the section in which the apprentice is working at a level appropriate to the trainee's experience at that point in time.
4.
Work in other teams within the engineering team to gain an understanding of their role by undertaking tasks appropriate to the grade.
5.
To attend training programmes, seminars, e-learning and other personal
development courses as required to attain an apprenticeship NVQ level 3 or equivalent Apprenticeship qualification.
6.
To maintain training records in accordance with the requirements of the
approved training scheme.
7.
Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Mitie policies.
8.
To comply with all authority and departmental policies, management systems,
procedures and working practices.
9.
Such other duties as might be required that are appropriate to the trainee's,
experience and position in the training programme.
