Apprentice Newport, Newport, Wales
Job description
Post No. POSN001719 - Apprentice - Digital Learning Practitioner
2-year Placement
We have an exciting new full-time opportunity for someone to join our Human Resources (HR) & Organisational Development (OD) Team, as an apprentice Digital Learning Practitioner. If you are interested in creating eLearning courses and working with data, to enhance work-place training opportunities and support individuals in their career-based learning and development, as well as assisting with our recruitment initiatives and employee engagement activities, we would love to hear from you.
During this 2-year apprenticeship, you will work towards a Level 3 Diploma for Digital Learning Practitioners, whilst gaining related work experience. This course will last for approximately 18 months, so there will be a period following completion of the diploma, for you to embed your learning.
We can offer you a supportive team of colleagues and an opportunity to develop your skills in a public sector organisation that values its workforce. You will need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and work as part of a busy team, with an ambitious agenda and a strong reputation for delivering a quality people management provision. This role includes opportunities to work from home and Council locations and schools, in line with business needs.
Newport City Council’s HR & OD service provides professional organisational development to around 5,500 staff across a range of portfolios, both corporate and school based. This role will also allow for an opportunity to get involved with other areas of HR and OD, including providing administrative support to the HR & OD Team and coordinating project work.
For an informal discussion on the role, please contact Philippa Green, Senior HR & OD Business Partner, on 01633 656656 or by email [email protected].
Newport City Council pay a higher apprenticeship salary than the government recommendation. For the first year of the apprenticeship, you will receive a minimum of £12,570 per annum and for the second year of the apprenticeship, you will receive £20,048.08 per annum.
We welcome applications for all our jobs in either Welsh or English. An application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
Newport City Council is committed to working towards its workforce being more representative of the population that we serve and particularly welcomes applications from people from the minority ethnic communities represented (or living) in the city. Selection will be made on ability and skills to undertake the role.
