Everybody and everything needs fuel. Cars need fuel to run, plants need fuel to grow and people need fuel to go about their daily lives. Businesses need fuel too and the aim of Fuel Accountancy Services is to provide this – to help clients survive and thrive.
We try to be innovative and different to other Accountancy practices – examples of which are that we finish at 4.30pm everyday & work in a vibrant, fun and modern open-plan environment!
Clients seek a professional service but they also want to deal with people who take an interest in them, who are approachable and who put them at ease. For this reason, our recruitment process places as much emphasis on personality as on academic and technical skills. Personality-wise we are looking for someone who is outgoing and is looking to learn and grow in a fast-growing practice
We set high professional standards but combine this with a relaxed atmosphere where a good sense of humour is regarded as an essential attribute.
This is a great opportunity to start to your career in Accountancy. As an Apprentice Accounts Assistant you will support your colleagues in providing a range of accountancy services to our clients. You will gain the experience and knowledge to progress through the AAT qualifications and, if appropriate, progress thereafter to further professional qualifications. We are looking for someone who can learn from the bottom and grow to the top.
Training to be provided
You will undertake the “Accounts Assistant” or the “Assistant Accountant” Apprenticeship (the Levels 2 and 3 Apprenticeship in Accounting respectively), with full support from Accountancy Learning as part of their Apprenticeship Programme. Your entry level will depend on your prior academic achievements and practical experience.
Assessment will be by an “End Point Assessment” and will be graded “Pass” or “Distinction”. This will include two elements:
- A Professional Discussion at Level 3 or an Interview at Level 2. These will include a series of questions allowing you to to display the knowledge and experience you have obtained over your apprenticeship. You will build a Portfolio of reflections and product evidence that will be used for discussion points in the PD or interview.
- A Synoptic Exam at Level 3 or an In-tray exercise at Level 2. The Synoptic will include elements you have learnt throughout your studies of the individual AAT Units and this will contribute towards your end grade.
If completing the Level 2 Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship you will undertake studies for the AAT (Level 2) Foundation Certificate in Accounting. You apprenticeship duration is likely to be 13 months.
If completing the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship you will undertake studies for the AAT (Level 3) Advanced Diploma in Accounting. If appropriate the Level 3 Apprenticeship will include those elements of the Level 2 Certificate deemed necessary to underpin your Level 3 studies. It is anticipated that the duration of the Level 3 Apprenticeship would be 13 to 18 months. These studies will underpin both elements of your “end point assessment”.
You will receive support from both the employer, and the training provider, to complete and achieve your Apprenticeship and will be given time to study during the week on a day release basis. As you are working towards a professional qualification, it is also expected that you will continue your studies outside of normal office hours.
As you learn more in both the office and in your studies, your responsibilities, and the variety of tasks you undertake, are expected to increase.
