Job description
This is an exciting new role that has been created within the Pastoral Team. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is looking for a rewarding and purposeful job where you can positively impact the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties?
The role will be as follows:
- To confidentially support the welfare of students throughout the pre prep, prep and senior school
- To manage the school Pastoral and Wellbeing Space and provide supported social time activities during break and lunch times
- To lead emotional wellbeing and social skills interventions for individual and small groups of pupils
- To be responsible for maintaining appropriate and confidential records
- To liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider Pastoral Team on a regular basis and attend weekly Pastoral meeting
- To deal with issues in a positive manner, communicating actions to staff and parents as appropriate
- To liaise with tutors on pastoral matters, with active involvement in tutor meetings as required
- Work directly in conjunction with the Designated Safeguarding Lead on matters relating to safeguarding, wellbeing and behaviour
- Liaising with staff/parents/external agencies with regards to pupil wellbeing and safeguarding
- In conjunction with the Mental Health Lead, monitoring Personalised Support Plans (PSPs) and Early Helps Plans (EHPs) for students with behavioural or pastoral concerns
- To have thorough knowledge of Mental Health support services locally and nationally.
- Support individual pupils to access lessons, learning opportunities and extra curricular activities, helping them to meet the expectations of staff and reduce barriers to learning and inclusion
