Learning Support Assistant:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to children with Autism/ASC, complex needs, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). You will work closely with the teaching staff and other professionals such as Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities for Learning Support Assistant:
- Support and assist students in their learning and development, both academically and socially.
- Implement personalised learning plans, tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging and self-esteem.
- Assist with personal care and physical support, ensuring the well-being and safety of the students.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to create and deliver engaging lessons and activities.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
Learning Support Assistant's Requirements:
- Genuine passion for working with children with Autism/ASC, complex needs, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students.
- Previous experience working in a similar role or a relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
