Short description:
We are looking for an Applications Support Engineer tohelpour customers in the use of our Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software, Javelin.
Sitting within a small team, the ideal candidate will be employed in Customer Application Support and will be committed and responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across our customer base. You will need to demonstrate good, listening, verbal and written communication skills and show initiative and flexibility to provide acceptable resolutions to customer support issues.
A good telephone manner is essential, and any understanding of MRP/ERP or supply and demand process knowledge would be a distinct advantage. As would some understanding of databases & information systems.
Tasks in detail:
- Help resolve customer issues in a timely manner and escalate to Manager or Team any issues that may need clarification or further resources to resolve.
- Manage internal ticketing systems and ensure that the system is kept up to date.
- Maintain and update technical documents and procedures.
- Work in co-operation with other team members to fully utilise the resources and knowledge of the team to achieve results and to identify areas of improvement.
- Contribute to the team by providing help and support to other team members.
- Enhance own technical knowledge and skills by participating in relevant internal and external training.
- Recommend new processes where needed for quality improvement, cost reduction and on-time delivery.
- Identify potential sales opportunities.
- Where necessary, undertake any support and services activity requested by your manager.
- Help customers to develop, review and enhance their use of Production software and gain competitive benefits.
- Ensure that the customer is fully informed about the status of outstanding cases and case resolutions.
- Ensure that all tasks carried out comply with company policies, procedures, and systems.
Requirements:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and an excellent telephone manner.
- 2 years of relevant work experience, working in a call center, sales or purchasing.
- Experience working with an MRP or ERP software.
- Right to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
