Special Support Assistants needed
Cricket Green School is an outstanding and outward facing special school which meets the needs of learners aged 4 to 19, all of whom have challenges with their learning. We are a school where leaders have high expectations and an unrelenting ambition for the pupils in our care. We provide exciting contexts for pupils to develop and practise skills through our café, outdoor learning and school animals!
If you are looking to join a community where learning is fun, lessons capture pupils’ interest and pupils do not feel defined or limited by being in a special school then apply to CGS! Staff feel privileged to work in this unique school.
What does Ofsted say about our curriculum?
- It puts no ceiling on pupil’s success
- It is highly effective and meets each pupil’s needs
- Through small steps it develops independence and communication as well as subject knowledge
- EHCP plan targets are used to expertly craft lessons
But most importantly what do our parents say about us?
- Staff have unlimited patience, compassion and energy
- Their children benefit from a personalised programme of support
- The school has made an enormous difference to their lives and to their lives of their children
- Their children are challenged and because of this, achieve way beyond what even they thought possible
Now you know what we do, let us tell you what we are looking for. Due to expansion we are seeking to appoint some new, enthusiastic and committed support staff to work as part of our team, in particular to fill vacancies in the Secondary/6th form areas where our curriculum focuses on work-based learning, work experience and independence.
You must have a willingness to work with pupils with a wide range of special needs including autism, moderate learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. An enthusiasm to learn, sense of humour, a commitment to special needs, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Relevant experience will be an advantage.
When you join our team we will provide a safe, friendly, community atmosphere, training, a mentor to help you settle in and access to our Employee assistance programme.
