Job description
The Applications Specialist provides first tier support for UPM end users on both the ERP system and other business applications. Acting as a technology leader and advisor for multiple departments across the company, they will be in constant communication with other members of the UPM team, both within and outside of the IT department, to drive efficiency and effectiveness of current processes. Exposure to all levels of UPM procedure, from detailed order entry to widescale strategic initiatives, are commonplace. Thus, with opportunities to take part in major business improvement projects, this role positions an individual well in their growth of knowledge in both business and IT processes.
Other duties include:
- Consult with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems to create solutions that address business requirements
- Assist in testing with Stratix and Power BI reporting
- Aid in creating documentation of ERP processes
- Work closely with other IT team members to effectively support end users, including data analysts and developers
- Provide timely and professional technical support and assistance to end users across locations and departments
- Support improvement initiatives involving business applications
- Meet with management on the specifics of projects, new technologies and project deadlines
- Willingness to multitask and effectively evaluate level of urgency

Skills Needed
- Bachelors Degree and 5 years relevant experience and/or training.
- Expert in utilizing and interpreting analytical software.
- Familiar with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc…
- Willingness to participate in training and certification in other areas.
