Job description
Carbon60 are currently looking for an Applications Engineer to join an experienced British manufacturer working within the land drainage, flood defence and sewage industry. This is a permanent position that provides amazing opportunities.
This Bedford based company are looking for an Applications Engineer to join their diverse and ever-growing team to play a key part in the company.
This role is a remote based role however the candidate would need to, on an ad hoc basis when required be able to base themselves at one of the company offices located in either Castleford, Bedford or Avonmouth.
Work hours are : 37.5 hours per week 08:15-16:45 Mon-Thurs, and 08:15-13:45 Friday.
Tasks include:
- Provide technical support to parts of the business.
- Be able to select pumping equipment according to customer specifications - using inhouse tools and data.
- Calculate and deliver high stand quotes, use in house tools to look at pipe friction losses and system curves.
- Deliver solutions and technical information to customers and ensure strong relationships are formed.
- Attend sites and customer premises as and when required.
Requirements include:
- HNC/D or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience / Knowledge of centrifugal pumps: applications, performance curves and system curves.
- Experience / Knowledge of working within in ISO quality system.
- Be able to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience of working with commercial terms and conditions.
