The Role: Application Support Analyst


Purpose:


This role supports the Business to maximise the benefits of the various systems used through supporting applications, liaising with suppliers and other stakeholders and by championing continuous improvement.

The role requires a thorough understanding of the business processes coupled with detailed knowledge of the systems used including SAP. It is also expected to manage the relationship between business users, IT, and our third-party providers in order to provide continuous improvement and establish best practices across the Group.

Accountabilities:


  • Work with the Service Desk to facilitate incident & problem resolution.
  • Work with the business to exploit the benefits from using the various applications and associated hardware and processes.
  • Manage the various scheduled and un-scheduled updates process, UAT and business processes.
  • Gathering and structuring business requirements for use of developers and others for enhancements and other changes.
  • Document change requests and contribute to complete impact assessments.
  • Helping users understand the technology and if needed work with the training team to provide documentation.
  • Work with third party resolver groups to resolve issues/incidents.
  • Work with the Application COE Lead and Third Parties to resolve software bugs.
  • Keep abreast of system releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform application research.
  • Participate in release upgrade or new functionality / enhancement assessments and make recommendations. · Perform break/fix analysis and recommend solutions for finance related processes.
  • Document processes, changes, requirements, and progress reports amongst others.
  • Support integrations between various systems (including Non-SAP & SAP Systems)
  • Keep up to date with developments and trends in the various systems updates, technologies, and business processes. This will involve the need for ongoing training and research

Essential

  • Exceptional communication skills for both written and verbal.
  • SQL Skills
  • Microsoft Power Apps
  • SharePoint
  • Proven bespoke application support
  • Driven by excellent customer service
  • Able to work independently with a strong bias to getting things done. Understand the true value to the business of meeting objectives and timely delivery.
  • Analytical structured approach to solving problems using numerous modelling tools and techniques.
  • Willingness to travel around the Group as required.
  • Possess a firm belief in the values of customer service and ABP’s core values of openness and honesty, teamwork, and respect, along with the ambition to make a difference and exceed expectations.

Desirable

  • An understanding of Procurement, PS, HR and/or Property Management processes
  • Experience Managing Application Integrations
  • Project Management experience, including Prince2
  • IT technical background is a considerable advantage needed for communicating requirements effectively
  • Managing applications including testing, upgrades etc.
  • Managing UAT and testing generally

Ideal

  • Experience of working in any one of the functional areas used within ABP.
  • Possess a good degree in an IT related subject relevant to this post
