Description: The CSET API Development Analyst, with a primary focus on BrokerTec Quote (CME’s D2C RFQ-based REPO platform), is responsible for providing CME Group API certification and testing support within the established SLA and customer service guidelines. As there is both a global customer base and global business and technology teams, this role will require flexibility and availability to engage with customers, vendors or CME Group during timeframes outside standard local business hours.
Requires a foundational level of technical knowledge (specifically with FIX protocol) and an eagerness to develop a deeper knowledge of financial services and fixed income within an exchange-based environment.
A strong willingness to learn new technologies and how to support BrokerTec Quote clients in a fast paced and demanding environment. An ability to work independently, within a global team structure, is also a core requirement. Ability to be able to collaborate with team members and cross functional teams to integrate customers into the BrokerTec Quote platform.
Principle Accountabilities
Provide API development technical support via phone, email or in person for customers, teams or vendors developing to or integrating with the CME Group API's. Follow CSET customer service guidelines - 80% FIX Integration
Support bi-weekly release product testing / functional test reviews.
Work within agile scrum framework on 2-week sprint cycles. This could include UAT testing of FIX API JIRAs, liaising/coordinating with clients and stakeholders on key new functionality/respective release dates - 15% Product Testing / Functional Test Reviews
Participate in customer education opportunities with the customer relationship managers. Specific to BrokerTec Quote support – participate in customer facing demos for the front-end UI. Collaborate with the team around innovation and customer feedback as they relate to new functionality - 5% Sales Support / Sales Acumen.
Skills & Software Requirements:
Required:
Foundational knowledge and awareness of FIX protocol and its role within the financial industry
Basic networking and application development knowledge
Experience supporting and troubleshooting a technical product, ideally within financial services
Strong desire to provide technical support for a technology customer base.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
Preferred:
Experience with FIX protocol and client integrations within financial services
General skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills,
Financial industry technology knowledge central limit order books, REPO and post trading processing protocols including, but not limited to: FIX/ FIXML, JSON Protocol, REST API web services.
Cloud Computing Services (Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services)
Self-starter works independently
Nice to have skills:
Python/R/Unix scripting,
basic Networking skills, SQL+,Linux , XML, HTML, &,Toad, Jira, understanding of multi-cast protocols, understanding of database principles, SWL scripting a plus.
Good knowledge of AGILE processes/ Product Operating model methodology
Degrees or Certifications: Bachelor’s degree Information systems, computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or similar
Experience: ideally 1 to 2 years relevant experience (including Internship) but not essential
