GSK’s anti-counterfeiting team is a global function within Legal and Compliance. The team plays a crucial role protecting GSK’s patients from falsified medicines and vaccines with a programme of proactive, reactive, and preventative brand protection activities.
This role is an excellent opportunity for any individual operating in brand protection, to be part of a global team focusing on both traditional brand protection measures including enforcement of trademark rights and a more intelligence driven approach based around investigations and proactive monitoring.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
Initial handling of all falsified product reports received either via customer complaints/sales force or directly from Customs or regulators; creating, amending and updating records in the trademark management database and providing a first response on Customs seizures and matters reported by agencies which are not country specific (eg WHO reports and press releases)
Submitting monthly case reports to Pharmaceutical Security Institute and WHO
Liaising with data analysts in the wider Legal and Compliance function to obtain timely and actionable intelligence based on third-party data feeds such as Customs import and export data; basic intelligence analysis/handling/reporting, including OSINT; working with the Authentication Specialist to spot patterns and identify links between cases
Working with tools such as Power BI to manipulate and present data on both online and offline falsified product incidents, intelligence and global trends in user-friendly reports and dashboards
Creation of Customs training materials; intelligence reports and presentations for sharing with internal and external stakeholders on investigation outcomes
Overseeing the global customs recordal and renewals programme (including management of budget)
Monitoring compliance of AC team with data entry processes and working on proposed improvements to the database management system
Supporting the online investigations and enforcement programme
Updating internal process documents and intranet sites and assisting in the planning and execution of anti-counterfeiting awareness programmes
Why You?
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s degree and, ideally, some post-graduate qualification
A legal or scientific background would assist in understanding the legal enforcement, public/private partnership, and authentication aspects of this role, but experience and/or qualifications in data handling and analytics is also highly desirable
Also desirable (but not a pre-requisite for this role):
Trademark prosecution experience
Experience in handling brand protection cases including authentication processes
Experience of data analysis and data presentation using tools such as Power BI
Experience of working with customs and other government agencies
