Your role
Activision is searching for an Animation Programmer to join its CT group based in Manchester. This is a full-time permanent position, learning and working in a friendly and inclusive environment alongside some of the best game creators in the world. You will help us craft the next generation of the massively successful Call of Duty® series of games.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of Call of Duty’s animation technology, engine and tools.
- Help with and engage in the research, design, and implementation of new features.
- Provide support to content and engineering teams across our studios.

Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Some familiarity with C or C++ programming, problem-solving, debugging etc.
- Experience working as a C++ programmer in the game industry or a related field.
Skills & Attributes
Our ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills and attributes:
- Passion for advancing high-fidelity interactive animation in AAA games.
- A proven understanding of computing fundamentals, 3D maths and algebra.
- Experience working directly on low-level game animation systems.
- Produce clear and maintainable code that performs and scales well across multiple platforms.
Optional
These are not firm requirements, but we would be especially interested in talking to anyone with:
- In-depth knowledge of one or more areas of animation technology, such as inverse kinematics, blend trees, ragdolls, state machines and secondary motion techniques.
- Example programming projects featuring 3D animation, from demos to published games.
