Role Overview:

This important regulatory role within our Trading Standards Team deals with the licensing of businesses and inspections of animals in farm settings to ensure welfare standards are being met. It also involves giving out advice and enforcing legislation where necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out inspections
  • Investigating complaints and suspected offences
  • Working with other agencies
  • Supporting the Council’s response to notifiable diseases

Key Requirements:

  • Animal Licensing Inspector Award (RQF) Level 3 or wiling to achieve within 12 months;
  • Experience of working in a wide range of Animal Welfare settings and associated subject matter
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to write letters/reports which can be easily understood by a wide audience.
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a motor vehicle.
