We currently have an exciting and rare job opportunity for an animal registrar to join the team at Five Sisters Zoo. This is a key role and the best candidate will have the opportunity to work with our keepers, vet and management team in order to ensure exemplary animal record keeping in compliance with zoo licensing, BALAI and accreditation requirements.

The successful candidate will

• Keep all animal records up to date.

• Work with ZIMS software to ensure animal records are kept up to date.

• Work with our Head keeper and management team to help organise smooth animal transfers.

• Work with our animal keepers and management team to ensure FSZ complies with BALAI regulations and zoo licensing rules.

• Liaise with our Head Keeper and Head Vet to ensure smooth management of animal records.

• Have some involvement with student projects and Work placements where appropriate.

Essential Requirements:

• Fantastic observation skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Excellent organisational and record keeping skills

• Must be IT literate (our registrar must be competent with all Microsoft office software)

• Must be happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Must be comfortable working alone and part of a team.

• Have a valid UK driving license or good access to public transport.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience using ZIMS

• Previous zoo experience in a similar role

• Please note that we may select a candidate with little to no previous ZIMS/specific zoo experience if we feel they are the best fit for the role (training will be provided where required)

Five Sisters Zoo is not easily accessible by public transport as we are not on a bus route. You must be able to arrange your own transport to and from work.
