Noah's Ark Zoo Farm
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is an award-winning zoo set in 100 acres of open countryside just outside Bristol.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our committed and friendly team of animal keepers. We are looking to recruit an experienced animal keeper onto our Primates & Small Mammals section.
We are not looking for a candidate with no experience for this role. However, we are prepared to offer the successful candidate the appropriate keeper level to reflect skills and experience from a trainee up to senior keeper.
This is a key role within the team, and you will take a full and proactive role in the daily management of the section, as well as helping with other sections as and when required.
This is a full-time position working a 40-hour week on a flexible rota (including weekends and bank holidays).
We expect applicants to have knowledge and practical experience of at least some of the species concerned a strong work ethic and good team working skills and the ability to maintain high levels of hygiene.
Species held on Section: Siamang, Ring-tailed Lemur, Ruffed Lemur, Meerkat, Cotton Top Tamarin, Skunk, Porcupine, Prairie Dogs, Bennet’s Wallaby and Bactrian Camels.
Typical aspects of the role include:
- Assist in the daily management and care of all the animals on section. Including food prep and feeding, enclosure maintenance, enrichment, and training.
- Deliver talks and experiences to our visitors.
Applicant requirements:
- Applicants will have at least 1 full year paid work as a keeper in an animal establishment or have completed an internship at a reputable collection.
- Be familiar with the care required for a variety of species on section.
- Animal-based qualification.
- Full driving licence.
- Have high standards of hygiene when working.

- Mindful of the visitor experience in all aspects of your work.
- Demonstrate professionalism towards sensitive and confidential information.
- Comply with and promote Health and Safety policies and procedures and to undertake recommended Health and Safety training as and when required.
- Drive the company vehicle for the collection of resources, e.g. meat, veterinary supplies.
- Undertake other duties as are relevant with the position.
