Full-Time Kennel Hand (X2 Positions)
We have an exciting opportunity for two full-time Kennel Hands to join our dedicated team. As a Kennel Hand, you will play a vital role in the care and well-being of our furry friends.
Position Details:
- Job Title: Kennel Hand (X2 Positions)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Location: Based in and around Sudbury
- Accommodation: Provided on-site
- Salary: POA (Potential Annual Salary of 20,000)
- Must be able to drive due to the location of our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and support for the animals in our facility, including feeding, grooming, exercising, and cleaning their living areas.
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of the animals, reporting any concerns or changes in behaviour to the supervisor.
- Assist with administering medication and treatments as and when needed.
- Ensure a clean and sanitary environment for the animals by regularly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, exercise areas, and equipment.
- Interact with the animals to provide socialisation and enrichment activities, promoting their mental and physical well-being.
- Assist in the intake process and getting them welcomed and settled in.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of yourself, the animals, and others.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel or animal shelter setting.
- Passion for animal welfare and a genuine love for animals.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and confidently.
- Basic knowledge of animal behaviour, health, and nutrition.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including lifting and carrying animals, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
