Job description
Job Title: Kennel Assistant
Responsibilities:
Animal Care: Provide daily care and attention to animals, including feeding, watering, exercising, and monitoring their well-being.
Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel area, including cleaning kennels, and all areas.
Medication Administration: Assist with administering medications to animals as instructed by staff.
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of animal care, behavior, and any medical treatments or observations.
Customer Service: Interact with pet owners, answer inquiries, provide information, and ensure a positive experience for clients and their pets.
Exercise and Playtime: Engage in playtime and exercise sessions with animals to promote their physical and mental well-being.
Assisting Veterinary Staff: Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians as needed during procedures and examinations.
Animal Handling: Safely handle animals, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain supplies, including food, bedding, and cleaning supplies, and assist with inventory control.
Qualifications:
Passion for Animals: Genuine care and compassion for animals, with an understanding of their behavior and needs.
Physical Fitness: Ability to handle and lift animals of various sizes and perform physically demanding tasks.
Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to notice any changes or abnormalities in animal behavior or health.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with pet owners and veterinary staff effectively.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with a team, following instructions and contributing to a positive work environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and bank holidays including Christmas Day or Boxing Day as kennels often require 24/7 care.
Experience: Prior experience is a must.

Contract length: 10 months
Part-time hours: 32 per week
Salary: £10.41-£11.00 per hour
