Animal Care Assistant – Surgical Rotation

UE04 £24,408 to £26,656 Per Annum, Pro Rata (based on 37.5 hour week)

College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies / Hospital for Small Animals

Fixed term, 9-month post covering maternity leave

Part time averaging 23.3 hours/week, paid overtime with any additional shift cover

Comprised of 10-hour shifts, with 1 hour unpaid lunch (7.30am-6.30pm) working 4 shifts on and 8 shifts off

Our surgical rotation posts are ideal for anyone interested in developing their careers within a state of the art referral hospital. We will provide training across a variety of services by working within the teams of specialist clinicians and experienced registered veterinary nurses at the Hospital for Small Animals. You will be involved in a range of interesting and inspiring cases in our surgery suites, as well as helping for our ward-based patients at the weekends.

The Opportunity:

You will work in a rotational “pod” of three, working in a 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off pattern. You will cover each other’s annual leave and accrue paid overtime for this additional shift cover.
