Job Title: Abseil Platform Instructor
Reports to: Duty Manager / Operations Manager
Location: Liverpool Football Club, Anfield, Anfield Road, Liverpool, L4 0TH
Hour of work: Casual, predominately weekends & holiday periods
Rate of Pay: £ 13.39 per hour + Holiday pay

As the Platform Instructor, you'll be central to the action, delivering the abseil for each customer, ensuring they always feel safe and comfortable, enabling them to enjoy the thrill of their descent. With your wealth of experience in similar roles and/or relevant qualifications, you'll assist in the abseil setup and rigging. You'll connect our thrill-seeking guests to the abseil lines, guiding them through the process with confidence and ease. As a natural communicator, you'll effortlessly engage with our visitors, making them feel comfortable and safe amidst the exhilarating outdoor heights.

Principle Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct participants as required by Duty Manager.
- To assist the Duty Manager with the abseil rigging.
- To facilitate the abseils in a safe and efficient manner.
- To ensure disclaimers & waivers have been signed via Smartwaiver.
- To deal with extraordinary client requests in a helpful manner.
- To liaise with group organisers, where required, to ensure smooth running of events
- To provide assistance to the Duty Manager with on the day administrative tasks.
Customer Service & Personal Attributes

- Energetic, flexible attitude to work.
Expertise
- Complete inhouse training and be signed off as competent by the W&S Technical advisor in the following areas; Personal safety, Clear understanding of the SOP’s, EOP’s and RA’s, Correct fitting of PPE, Rigging, Delivery of the abseil, Rescue procedures
- Understand full operational process.
- An excellent awareness of Health and Safety and the ability to follow procedures.
- Be fully conversant with all abseil documentation.
- Ensure familiarity with the booking system and Smartwaiver.
- Be prepared to seek advice where necessary.
Essential
- First Aid training
- Either: hold a valid certificate in one of the following: Single Pitch Award, Rock Climbing Instructor Award, IRATA Level 1, Climbing Wall Award with Abseil module, or have previous expereince in similar ropes based roles
- An in-date, current DBS check. (If you do not hold this then on completion of the training course, one will need to be obtained)
Selection Process & Training
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre on Wednesday 31st May 2023. These will be used to assess candidates and those successful will be invited to join the subsequent training.
Training Course information:
We will provide training that is unique to the abseil. Pre-training learning packs will be sent out in advance of training for home learning.
All areas of the abseil and its delivery will be taught, and you must be at competent standard at the end of training for the W&S technical advisor’s sign off.
Training will take place over the week of 19th-23rd June 2023.
These days are the compulsory training for which you would need to be available.
Training is paid at our training rate of £9.50/hour - this is paid via payroll and only upon successful completion of the training and assessment.
