Analytics Engineer
Can you help us make great business decisions using a really cool data stack?
The Role:
You'll be making sure that data is at the heart of Oddbox's decision making. As our Analytics Engineer, you'll drive improvements and efficiencies to the data stack. You'll always be on the look-out for opportunities to showcase our data in new and engaging ways across the business.
Primary responsibilities:
You will develop a complete knowledge of all data sources and maintain a strong relationship with the wider data function, in order to provide them with the reporting and support they need.
Establish best practices for reporting and data visualisation, so that data can be easily interpreted and utilised to inform strategic decisions.
Adopt a continuous learning approach to BI development and reporting techniques, keeping up to date with the latest thinking and practices
Influence the approaches to using data across the business, focusing on self-service BI. Driving a data-led culture and providing advice, support and recommendations on how data can improve business initiatives.
Work closely with the wider engineering team to build solutions to business problems.
What we’re looking for:
Advanced dashboarding capabilities in Looker or similar BI platform
Advanced knowledge of SQL (we currently use snowflake)
Have a problem solving attitude and the ability to check and test relevant work.
Ability to design, develop and maintain data models to support Oddbox's data stack. (we currently use DBT)
A methodical, analytical and logical thinker, with the ability to see the bigger picture and get to the underlying business questions and challenges that need answering.
Ability and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
Well organised, with the ability to plan and structure workload, collaboratively delivering to deadlines.
Ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively and build relationships with both technical and non technical colleagues.

Start date – ASAP
Duration of role – permanent, full time
Location – Hybrid-On average, you'll spend one day each week in our Vauxhall office, working with other Oddboxers and seeking out the low-hanging fruit. (Is that a fruit pun?! Maybe. Or we could just be talking about our always fresh fruit bowl and snack cupboard). You'll need to visit our distribution centre in Croydon and packing facility in Birmingham a couple of times each year.
