Here at Drax, we’re aiming to be a global leader in negative emissions through BECCS – bioenergy with carbon capture and storage – and we’re looking for talented people to join us to help develop this essential carbon dioxide removal technology and make a real difference in the fight against climate change.
As an Analyst, you will certainly be supporting our teams to help make a difference to deliver BECCS not just here in the UK, but globally
The closing date for applications is midnight on the 16th of February. Successful applications shall then be invited to attend an assessment center on Wednesday 22nd February and Thursday 23rd February
As an Analyst, what will you be doing?
You’ll often be working from a blank sheet of paper! You’ll be working at the forefront of an exciting industry. Researching, connecting the dots, analysing data, and helping to compare pros and cons and suggest mitigations and ways to overcome challenges.
As an analyst you will be helping to set direction and informing decision making.
You’ll be undertaking market appraisals, data analysis and prepare information to support all manner of research studies in various methods such as qualitative, quantitative and scenario-based studies.
You’ll support in maintaining document integrity and accuracy, register management and reporting, to ensure that all active data and researched is managed for the rest of the team.
You’ll work with wider members of the BECCS delivery teams as well as colleagues and stakeholders across are various different business units. You’ll also be networking and working with external parties for further research and data analysis
About you
Essentially, you’ll have a passion for climate change – you’ll want to be part of the solution and thrive in working within a team and environment where they are seeking out the latest technologies to combat climate change
You’ll have strong resilience and the ability to adapt to ever changing directions. You’ll be able to keep an open mind and bounce back quickly and move on if an idea does not become a concept for development.
With your curious mind and ability to manage uncertainty, you’ll have the ability to work with incomplete data sets, and uncertainty across a wide range of subjects e.g., technical, economic, legal, political etc. You’ll demonstrate an analytical capability to deconstruct complex problems, with strong communication skills including the ability to simplify concepts for non-technical audiences.
Experience in modelling complex data using standard and bespoke tools in excel, @Risk, SQL, economic modelling and other tools (for example)
