POSITION SUMMARY: The position will take an independent role in assisting the Global Field Operations and regions with accurate and timely commercial support during the entire sales cycle and throughout the company’s internal approval process. In addition will support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to requests from the Global Field Operations (GFO) team in a timely manner and be able to work to tight customer deadlines
• Manages compliance to Ciena’s internal processes and governance (Opportunity Management Process (OMP)) within supported region and/or supported accounts as it relates to bid response and contract negotiations.
• Generates the profit/loss (P&L) analysis in accordance to the OMP for opportunities requiring approvals as per Ciena’s processes and internal governance requirements. Maintain the Bid Register and associated files accurately and updated as deal activity evolves through the entire sales cycle process.
• Coordinate, manage, organize, and file key documentation related to Ciena's proposal process
• Support in all commercial aspects of new market or annual business plans
• Gather and present regional bid metrics to local senior management
• Provides support to GFO on the approval process for contract engagements and negotiations.
• Analyze and highlight to upper management and cross functional teams non-standard terms and conditions content within RFXs and contracts for internal evaluation and approval.
• Analyze trends in bid activity, quarter over quarter and help drive improvements required to ensure continued success
• Facilitate in the bid process as and when required
• Interface with internal functions as and when required such as Operations, Services, Finance, Legal etc
• Support the FP&A team with reporting and analysis tasks related to weekly bookings and revenue, Long-Term Forecasts (LTF), annual budget and three year plan
• Be comfortable working in a global organization
• Other tasks as required
