Working within the new NGED IT Performance and Planning team, an exciting opportunity has become available for an Analyst working in the Project Management Office (PMO), based at either Exeter or Plymouth.
Accountable to the PMO Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the IT PMO team to provide project data coordination and assurance for specific IT projects and programmes of work. This is in line with standard project management processes, procedures, tools & project data services across the NGED IT projects, programmes & portfolios.

Main Responsibilities- Working flexibly within the NGED IT PMO team, providing portfolio, programme & project analysis & assurance, for core IT projects and programmes of work throughout the Project Management Lifecycle, including, but not limited to :
- Project planning and scheduling
- Budget sanctioning and controls
- Demand management
- Resource management
- Stakeholder engagement
- Project governance & assurance
- Project change
- Project reporting
- Future road mapping
- Organising steering groups and providing project support services as required, including, but not limited to :
- Project & programme report packs
- Supporting materials
- Project change management and monitoring
- Ad-hoc presentations
- Taking minutes, recording key decisions
- RAIDD logs / activities and/or issues identified within work streams and meetings
- Working with the NGED IT PMO & Project Managers, drafting, reviewing and versioning as needed, the project documentation and artefacts, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Working with the NGED technical IT teams to understand and track project related risks & actions
- Managing document controls, including project documentation storage, version control and reviews, to ensure adherence & relevance across NGED IT & Business
- Training and coaching other staff in the PMO & IT on standard processes, procedure & tools
Educated to NVQ level 3/4 and/or appropriate experience in Project, Programme or Portfolio Coordination or Management, within an IT focused environment.
You will be fully PC Literate, with excellent Administration & IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, JIRA or similar.
Being successful in the role will require exceptional communication skills and the ability to converse with internal and external stakeholders. You will be expected to articulate technical requirements from an IT standpoint back to a business perspective, with a great attention to detail and excellent planning and organisational skills.
You will need to have the ability to work well as part of a team and individually with a flexible approach to support Project Managers and the PMO team. An awareness / understanding of IT, Project Management & Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and tools would be an advantage.
Candidates may not necessarily possess all the skills required to carry out the role at present but should have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with training.
