The Geographic Information Systems Analyst will play an important role, contributing to the production and incorporation of GIS data into CoStar’s market leading commercial real estate research product. This individual will be tasked with analysing and ensuring accurate capture of geospatial data. They will work closely with researchers and other stakeholders to create compelling GIS products that meet customer needs as well as thematic data for broader distribution. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the production of interactive maps, websites, reports and presentations that bring research content and real estate data to life.

  • Ensure visual data is presented accurately and in a compelling fashion.

  • Respond to internal stakeholder and external client requests for data and information.

  • Develop and share best practices standards for the region and research.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in GIS required.

  • Proven experience in a GIS capacity; preferred within a commercial real estate capacity.

  • Experience in analysing spatial data and translating client requirements into appropriate GIS reports and thematic maps.

  • Proven experience and knowledge with GIS databases and expertise of the Esri platform including ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Applications.

  • Knowledge of modern component-based GIS tools and methodology for GIS use cases.

  • Proven experience working with data analytic tools and visualization applications such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS or Urban Planning is ideal.

  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong ability to support environmental side of projects.

  • Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying related problems.
