Job description

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

EY Knowledge helps EY to win in the market by providing timely insights through an agile, client-first organization. In support of this vision, this analyst position will see you provide deep insights and perspectives on the Wealth & Private Banking industry to senior EY partners, identifying opportunities for EY products and services, and leading and mentoring more junior analysts to develop their commercial and analytical skills.

About the opportunity

You will be part of a global WAM analyst team, with members based in London, Delhi, New York and APAC. You will have the responsibility for shaping and delivering the wealth program for knowledge support, to support business development, service delivery and external market positioning efforts. You’ll also direct and develop a more junior resource for their time aligned to the wealth program.

You will work within a global team of analysts, collaborating closely with other business functions to bring your insights to the practice and EY’s clients.

Your key responsibilities

You will report to the WAM Analyst Team Leader, delivering an analysis program aligned to the needs of our wealth sub-sector stakeholders across all regions. Your priority will be to stay engaged with practitioners to build and evolve a set of deliverables relevant to their priorities. This will include creating and maintaining data, insights and supporting client meetings either in-person or through relevant content.

  • Providing deep analytical insight and understanding of the global wealth and private banking market, with responsibility for the execution of strategic and complex initiatives in accordance with the knowledge plan.
  • Engaging with and challenging senior domain stakeholders to provide commercial and provocative perspectives on the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
  • Developing and co-creating insights beyond publicly available information, interacting with Knowledge colleagues, account teams, service line colleagues, business function representatives, clients and external networks to incorporate proprietary knowledge and, where possible, developing proprietary data sets to evidence a differentiated point of view.
  • Developing a credible internal brand to become recognized within EY as a subject matter expert to the business. This position may participate in client meetings, roundtables and other external events/conferences to strengthen EY’s presence and reputation in the market.
  • As part of a high performing knowledge team, enabling your skills and experience to deliver against agreed priorities.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience with wealth management, either through client interaction or via industry research and analysis over at least 6-8 years.
  • A global mindset and experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders from different countries and cultures.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership with often conflicting demands
  • Experience in innovative approaches to creating insights where data and information can often be lacking
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills in a virtual setting and in-person.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • The ability to structure strategic analysis for an audience of senior practitioners and c-suite industry participants.
  • The analytical skills to interpret and react to complex and constantly evolving information.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and create stories around data.
  • A deep understanding of the wealth sub-sector and the trends and challenges it is experiencing.
  • Perspectives on how the wealth industry will evolve and develop as well as the drivers of these.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to engage with a wide range of audiences at executive level, leading conversations and offering differentiating perspectives
  • Experience creating and managing data to derive insight and market-leading analysis.
  • A commitment towards providing exceptional client service
  • Have strong commercial acumen, connecting marketplace opportunities to EY’s products and services

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge and experience gained in professional services
