We currently have an opportunity for an Analyst – Corporate Broking
The purpose of the role is to work within HSBC’s Corporate Broking team to assist in the origination of corporate broking mandates and the execution of ‘event-driven’ corporate transactions working closely alongside HSBC’s investment banking product teams.
Responsibilities
- Supporting corporate broking coverage and advisory focussed on UK plc clients and targets
- Client Materials: Assisting in the preparation of pitches, presentations and other materials for clients
- Financial Analysis: Developing valuation techniques and financial modelling capabilities
- Transaction Execution: Interacting with clients and various levels of management, and acting as an integral part of the transaction/coverage team
- Sector/market knowledge: Keeping up to date with the markets and sector developments, understanding peer developments and providing updates and insight to clients
- To work co-operatively with product and sector teams
- A generalist UK Investment Banking/UK Corporate Finance/ UK Corporate Broking background preferred
- Understanding of, and interest in, UK quoted company situations, including knowledge of the Listing Rules, Prospectus Rules, Disclosure and Transparency Rules, MAR and the Takeover Code preferred
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- ECM / M&A transactional experience desirable
- Experience with common databases (such as Bloomberg, Factset, Factiva, Datastream, etc)
- Knowledge of financial modelling, valuation, and execution
- A keen interest in UK and Global equity markets and the buy-side investor landscape
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrate capacity to build a network of contacts, both internal and external, in the context of interactions with colleagues and clients
- Exceptional academic credentials
- High levels of motivation and strong work ethic
