The opportunity:
The Qualitative Research & Analyst will be primarily responsible for undertaking research, policy analysis, data analysis, integrated knowledge translation, writing, and research coordination for a child health research program with Dr. Roberta Woodgate.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
· Masters degree in a Health-Related/Social Sciences/ Communications/Education or related field required.
· Minimum two (2) years' experience with qualitative research methodology required.
· Experience working with children and youth in research and a commitment to the engagement of young people in research required.
· Experience working with families in research and a commitment to the engagement of families in research required.
· Experience and knowledge of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion principles within research required.
· Experience with designing interview guides required including individual and focus group guides required.
· Experience with interviewing with a diverse range of people required including children and youth, immigrant/refugees, people living with chronic illness and/or disabilities, and Indigenous Peoples required.
· Experience in integrated knowledge translation engaging multiple audiences and users of knowledge in the research process required.
· Experience in arts-based methods for data collection and knowledge translation is preferred.
· An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
· Highly competent with MS Office, qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis software is required.
· Excellent English oral and written communication skills are required.
· Must be able to uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
· Must possess a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and sensitivity.
· Sound decision making, problem resolution and negotiation skills required.
· Sound understanding of complex social issues and personal commitment to human-rights based approach to research required.
· Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines required.
· Ability to communicate complex material in accessible forms to a variety of audiences required.
· Ability and willingness to learn new processes and techniques is required.
· Ability to create narrative summaries of data required and reports for various audiences required.
· Proven ability to work both independently and with a team, with a minimum supervision required.
· Demonstrated proficiency in using virtual meeting applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.) preferred.
· Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
