The Team:
The Methodologies Group is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating and retiring all the Criteria and Models used to assign credit ratings by S&P Global Ratings analysts worldwide.
As a Methodologies Analyst, you will be embedded within the Corporates and Infrastructure Methodologies Group to work closely with and under the direction of Criteria Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Model SMEs from the related Ratings Practice area. The scope of work you will be exposed to includes helping develop, maintain and update Criteria and Models, supporting the assignment and tracking of Criteria interpretations, Ratings to Principles, Criteria Borrowings and Criteria Exceptions, and assisting in the periodic Criteria review process and republication of non-material changes to Criteria.

Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and direction of senior colleagues, contributes to the development of new or update to existing criteria or other relevant analyses by conducting detailed research and analysis that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of relevant criteria.
Uses S&P methodology and standards, Excel, financial models or other analytical tools to assist senior colleagues and achieve the group’s objectives.
Maintains research records management.
Coordinates with global offices to ensure data used in the analysis is used consistently across international borders.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related field;
Masters or advanced degree optional.
2+ years work experience in relevant field;
General understanding of capital markets, financial instruments with an emphasis on credit risk modeling are preferred;
Basic understanding of database modeling/design and applications. Knowledge of SQL and experience in databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or Access would be beneficial;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of VBA. Knowledge of other programming languages, including R, Python, C++, Matlab, preferred.
Persistent with a natural curiosity about credit markets and technical details.
Displays well-rounded communication skills that implement good listening techniques, clear and good verbal skills. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.
Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse teams.
This role is limited to persons with eligibility to work in either the United States, Canada or Argentina.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (US ONLY)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $80,000.
Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
