Job Summary
The Leave Analyst is a customer-centric and solutions focused individual responsible for leave program administration, reconciliation of benefits programs and system operations of the Human Resource department. This position is responsible for coordinating and processing a broad range of benefits programs including, short/long term disability programs, FMLA and Parental Leave. This position is also responsible for administering leave policies and procedures and entering necessary information within applicable HR information systems to follow the employee life cycle accordingly. The reconciliation process will also require use of multiple systems and accounts (i.e. Cardinal, Virginia Retirement System and several different benefit programs. The Leave Analyst will work collaboratively and actively contribute to the overall goals and priorities of the Office of Human Resources.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of Excel and its associated functions/capabilities. • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education leave and benefits programs and processes. • Demonstrated working ability to independently research, analyze, reconcile and evaluate data. • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and project management skills. • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of competing demands while meeting established deadlines. • Demonstrates a team approach and takes initiative to help fellow employees. • Demonstrates high level of customer service and professionalism with internal and external customers. • Experience with accurate data entry.
- Experience with university systems including PeopleAdmin and Banner HR or similar. • Work experience in state government or higher education environment. • Working knowledge of state policies and procedures. • Accounting/reconciliation experience • HR certification ( CEBS , CCP , PHR , SPHR , SHRM -CP, SHRM - SCP ) desirable
