Warehouse Operative

Based at our state-of-the-art distribution centre on the outskirts of Preston, James Hall & Co. Ltd. have been established for over 150 years proudly serving communities across the north of England as supplier and distributor to over 600 SPAR stores.

Our operations team are an integral part of the business and have maintained service levels through difficult periods ensuring our customers get what they need, when they need it.

Hours

38 hours p/w– 5 days per week, includes Saturday 6.00am to job finish (usually around 11.00am)

Start/finish time – Monday to Friday 6.30 to job finish (usually around 3.30pm)

Pay rate (based on efficiency rated pay) £10.45 - £15.10

About the Role

As a warehouse operative you will have an important role to play as a part of a team that ensures our stores receive the products they need. We rely on every single employee in the warehouse and it’s your energy that helps us deliver to over 600 SPAR stores

What will I be doing?

Assembly and packing of orders ensuring that goods are packed accurately and safely
Ensure that the moving of equipment (roller trucks, units, racks, pallets etc.) is carried out safely.

Motivate team members and provide assistance to the management team.
Replenishing stock

Assistance with seasonal activity

A Few Things About You

This role will keep you on your toes and is for fast thinkers with an eye for accuracy. Through a personal headset that will be programmed to your voice, you will be given instructions to pick and pack selected products for each store.

Self-motivation to work hard and do everything to the best of your ability

Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet business needs and deadlines

Good attention to detail when working quickly

To be a positive, organised individual, capable of working as team member or on their own initiative

Have a flexible approach to working hours
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
