ALM Balance Sheet Management Transformation Manager
London
As a Barclays ALM Balance Sheet Management Transformation Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for managing the business’ IRRBB exposures. You will provide best in class analytical insight on customer behaviour and help the development of an efficient balance sheet, meeting the requirements of all stakeholders including the businesses as well as external stakeholders. Your role will also support and enhance ALM’s technology and innovation agenda, working on the development of new and enhancement of existing methodologies.

- Owning the design and operation of pre-hedging portfolios (e.g. the mortgage book), including understanding historic and forecast product performance
- Reviewing the group’s Balance Sheet to ensure that all IRRBB exposures are being captured, assessed and managed optimally
- Developing market-leading hedging strategies that optimise the group’s NII and support businesses to deliver performance as we progress through a volatile environment
- Developing improved methodologies and frameworks for key IRRBB management processes, including hedgeable balance calculations and management actions in response to material market
- Helping the ALM management team on implementing the IRRBB strategy across the firm, including significant senior management support
- Driving improvement to the control environment, contributing to the design and implementation of effective controls around processes and the development of a control focussed culture
- Providing SME input and direction into the ALM Transform programme, including the development of analytical tools and capabilities to identify future risks
- Assisting the manager and Head of ALM on key strategic initiatives as the agenda evolves over time, as well as providing guidance and leadership to more junior team members
- Previous customer banking book ALM/IRRBB experience is required
- Good understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and sources of interest rate risk
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple, concise, succinct manor with good presentational abilities, both written and oral
- Excellent knowledge of the UK consumer and financial markets and the impact on customer behaviour/our hedging programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Highly analytical, numerate and accurate
- Self-motivated with good decision making skills and a control mind set
- Good numeric degree or professional qualification
