While flexibility in work hours can be arranged this is a predominantly in office position, with at least 80% of time being required on site.
Primary Responsibility
As part of Adaptimmune’s off-the-shelf T cell project, this role is concerned with development of a manufacture-ready iPSC-derived T cell product. The project team is enabled to deliver this ground-breaking new therapy and ensure the company’s position as a leader in the allogeneic cell therapy field. For this, an associate scientist is required to join the team to help support the following duties:
- Perform experiments based on established protocols and provide support to other staff in their experiments
- Maintain laboratory equipment and prepare reagents
- Maintain cell cultures and perform analytical testing of cells
- Support/prepare accurate records of experiments by use of electronic lab notebooks and reports
- Support/conduct data analysis, collation of results/data and communication of results/conclusions
Whilst initially requiring supervision by a more senior scientist, the job holder will develop further scientific skills to enable them to work more independently on routine experiments. Associate Scientists may also be involved in one or more support activities to enable the smooth running of the group or laboratory.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Life sciences.
- Ability to learn and develop to work independently on routine experiments within a reasonable time frame.
- Experience of laboratory work, cell culture practices and/or aseptic technique
- Focus of experience in immunology
Desirable
- Knowledge of stem cells and hematopoietic differentiations
