AIT Technician
We are looking for an experienced AIT Technician to join our assembly, test and integration team, working on our launch vehicle here in Forres. You will be working with experts in the field to test and integrate systems that will be launched into space.

Responsibilities
- As a member of the AIT team you will be involved in the end-to-end process of assembling, testing and qualifying flight systems, components and assemblies for the launch vehicle as well as prototype hardware and test articles.
- Mechanical assembly, integration and test of safety critical systems including Hydraulic, high pressure and cryogenic components
- Experience with production, manufacturing or broader electromechanical disciplines would be beneficial, as would any experience writing or implementing test scripts.
- This role will involve working at our factory in Forres and our test site (10 minutes away). You will be required to spend significant time working outdoors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions.
- Proactive and strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Mechanical fitter with welding experience
- Pressure testing
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure to tight timescales.
- High attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy.
Qualifications or experience in mechanical engineering including significant practical work is essential.
Essential Experience
- Experience in a hands on environment working with high pressure fluid components or systems, ideally in a safety critical or high reliability industry such as aerospace.
- Proven ability to operate with minimal management working detailed test regimens, instructions or procedures.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working with medium to large scale components (Aircraft, Marine etc.).
- Ability to interrogate CAD data for information.
- Experience with cryogenics
- Exposure to working to high safety standards, ideally with hazardous materials/chemicals.
- Component inspection (Geometric, NDI) & Environmental testing

Location
This role is based in Forres at Orbex’s headquarters.
Orbex Forres is located at the foot of the Scottish Highlands, near Inverness. It's close to the spectacular coastline, wild beaches and amazing wildlife of the Moray Firth, as well as being a short distance from the world famous Loch Ness, and Aviemore ski resort.

Security
