As Airport Affairs Manager, you will exert significant influence over the BA/HAL relationship. You'll be engaging with and working to advance BA’s interests with senior level leaders in both organizations. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategy in very complex discussions and negotiations, using influencing skills to drive our business objectives across both organizations.
Accountabilities
- Implements strategies and processes to support BA’s wide-ranging and multi-faceted relationship with HAL.
- Maintains and encourages relationship mapping between key members of BA’s. IAG’s and HAL’s leadership teams.
- Supports engagement with, and represent BA’s interests with senior representatives of government agencies including CAA, DfT, NERL and others.
- Understands, monitors and reports on progress for all open negotiations with HAL at any given time.
- Develops and manages relationship scorecard to monitor progress of key initiatives, projects and negotiations between BA and HAL;
- Works cross functionally to assist in defining BA’s needs for the future; supports N&A and business colleagues with HAL as needed.
- Assists with problem resolution and provides appropriate forums to assist other directorates solve outstanding issues with HAL.
- Ad hoc project management to support implementation initiatives that require HAL support
- Chair BA/HAL Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and attend other senior forums – including Joint Steering Board and Joint Executive – as necessary
- Perform financial analyses and take actions to influence HAL as necessary.
Qualifications / experience
- I have experience managing complex, matrixed relationships, preferably in the aviation sector
- I have excellent problem solving skills and have demonstrated high proficiency in data modelling techniques
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics or equivalent experience
- Contract negotiation experience within the airline and airport environment and have negotiated with airport operators in the past
- Demonstrates high competence with data query and data management tools, including Access, SQL, Business Objects, and advanced Excel skills
- Experienced in airline, airport and contract negotiations
