One of Cornwall’s largest companies, the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group provides air and sea links for passengers and freight from the UK mainland to the Isles of Scilly.
Land’s End Airport is situated 7 miles West of Penzance, in stunning West Cornwall. The Airport is owned by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company and is operated by its subsidiary Land’s End Airport Limited.
In addition to regular Scheduled Passenger & Freight Flights to the Isles of Scilly, the Airport is also a base for Trinity House Helicopter Operations and sees regular visits from nearby military units, private pilots, flying schools, charter flights and SAR/First Responder helicopters.
The Airport has seen significant recent investment – including the hardening of two runway strips, installation of Air-Ground Lighting, the construction of a new passenger terminal & ATC tower and several other infrastructure improvements.

We are seeking another ADI qualified Air Traffic Control Officer to join our team.
Reporting To: Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (SATCO).
Hours: Generous roster – 4 days on, 2 days off with a long weekend every 3 weeks.
Provision of Air Traffic Services to ensure a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic in busy Class G airspace at Land’s End Airport.
Employees shall, at all times, provide Air Traffic Control Services in accordance with all current legislation, regulations and instructions, specifically those laid down in the Civil Aviation Publications (CAPs), ANO, MATS Pt 1, MATS Pt2, SMS, Aerodrome Manual and Operational memoranda.
We are looking for an ADI experienced controller to join our team at Land’s End Airport. With projects underway for a new Voice Switch, ATIS and a commercial UAV service, this would be an ideal opportunity to join an airport that is going places.
The main responsibilities of this position are…
- Provide an Air Traffic Service at Land’s End Airport in accordance with MATS Pt1 and MATS Pt2 and other relevant documents
- Maintain currency and competency in accordance with the Unit Competency Scheme
- Where a Meteorological Observers Certificate is held, preparation and prompt dissemination of routine and SPECI meteorological reports
- Where an OJTI endorsement is held, provide training as required by the ATCU
- Follow and comply with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS)
- Perform Ancillary tasks – when necessary, answering and processing all telephones in ATC, processing AFPEX messages, processing email messages, conducting Aerodrome inspections, maintain an accurate record of aircraft movements, wildlife control activities and defects.
- Assist in administrative duties if required, subject to EU 2017/373 Air Traffic Controllers Rostering System breaks.
- Attend courses as appropriate.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required.

- A UK CAA Air Traffic Controller Licence with a valid ADI rating
- A UK CAA Class 3 Medical Certificate
- Minimum language proficiency of EN-L5
- Be eligible to work in UK

- Minimum 2 years experience
