Role: Air Quality Consultant
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Belfast, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, York, Sheffield or Nottingham

The position is for an Air Quality/Senior Air Quality Consultant to join the Air Quality team within our Climate and Sustainability Services in the North/North West and Yorkshire region. You will help deliver and manage air quality projects as part of a team or as standalone projects.

The opportunity

Activities will include providing high quality technical consultancy and advisory support to clients, contributing to and managing the delivery of projects on time and to budget, including managing resources and undertaking regular project reviews and business development and preparation of effective technical proposals to win new contracts. Clients include technology-giants, private industry, private developers and other organisations and public sector authorities. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists.

Is the role right for you?

Experience required:

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering air quality assessments for a wide range of schemes and Experience in writing and editing technical and non-technical reports, and fee proposals
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, with good GIS skills (ArcGIS or MapInfo)
  • Experience in the use of relevant industry software (e.g. ADMS, Aermod)
  • Ability to interpret environmental guidelines, policies, plans, strategies and legislative requirements and assess their applicability to a project to identify appropriate solutions
  • Experience of air quality monitoring techniques (automatic and passive)

Qualification:

  • BSc/MSc or equivalent in a relevant discipline
