Key Qualifications

  • Strong skills in object-oriented software design and programming. Proficient in Python/Java or functional languages.
  • Comfortable working independently to deliver results with minimal direction.
  • Oriented towards practical solutions that can be proven empirically, as opposed to theoretical research.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Background in either of Machine Learning, Federated Learning, Distributed Systems, Differential Privacy or Statistics.
  • Commitment to high quality, well-tested code, and automation.

Description

You will design and implement features for private federated learning that will benefit millions of Apple users worldwide; work with ML and software engineers to perform empirical analysis, enhance existing ML/FL frameworks and make experimental features viable for production-readiness. You will review designs and code by others and provide constructive feedback. You will share your expertise while continuously learning from colleagues. You will optionally collaborate with world-class privacy and ML researchers, and have the opportunity to publish your work bolstered with results from real-world use-cases at Apple.

Education & Experience

Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Computer Science, or related technical field.
