About the role and our team
Join our team as an Agricultural Schemes Officer within the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture!
In this role, you will be developing and implementing initiatives aimed at endorsing the Agri-Environment Scheme for agricultural and horticultural businesses in the Isle of Man, in pursuit of the Department’s Agriculture and Fisheries Grant Scheme (AFGS).
The purpose of the Agri Environment Scheme is to support commercial businesses in undertaking initiatives which deliver agricultural and environmental benefits for themselves and the wider population.
You will be part of the small but highly dedicated Agriculture team where you will be responsible for managing the procurement of a range of initiatives including business advice and support for current and prospective to the proprietors of eligible agricultural and horticultural businesses. This is including sole traders, partnerships or corporate bodies in order to maximise the beneficial impact to the Island’s rural economy.
You will also have the opportunity to refine and embed policy issues in relation to the Agri-Environment Scheme, to support the good running of the Scheme.
